Final Project Camera Obscura From Fatal Frame 2 (Final Checkin)




Final Texture pass in unreal

Alphas are hand made based on designs from the second game I also used 4 custom smart materials to generate the different color gradients and added grunge.
 I also experimented with a glass material in substance and im working on hooking them up properly in UE.

WIP is warping the original mesh to give it a more stylized look following the Fortnite process.

Final Project Camera Obscura From Fatal Frame 2 (week 2 check in)

 


Final bake in unreal
(currently ahead of schedule)

Did a warp test with lattice in maya and discovered you can select two meshes at the time of applying the lattice. That allows you to influence them both so you can keep an original and a easy stylized one and they can share the same UVs!

Final Project Camera Obscura From Fatal Frame 2


For my Final project im going to be making a recreation of the original Camera Obscura from Fatal Frame 2 Crimson Butterfly 
the goal is to up res it as much as possible with the references I can find and color it in more of a overwatch Fortnite esc style.

Shout out to the person who ripped the original from the game and put it in a 3D viewer. you have saved my life.

Had some concerns when compiling references about the kanji written around the lens of the camera 
but after a quick check on the games reddit some fellow Japanese language students were able to translate them!
